Windows Phone 7 Series announced at Mobile World Congress

Microsoft announced it’s new mobile operating system at Mobile World Congress today. I’ve been anticipating this announcement since I first heard about the WP7 plans internally. Now that we’ve shown off the user experience for the new OS the next question is: how do we build apps for it? Well, that part of the story will be told at Microsoft MIX ‘10 in mid-March. It is an awesome developer story and I can’t wait to be able to talk about it publicly!

Building your first Android experience

I was just digging through presentations on SlideShare.net and found this presentation by Tony Hillerson, Software Architect at ~~EffectiveUI~~ Brightkite. I’ve been starting to dig into Android development lately as I plan to port an app that I’m building for the iPhone at some point in the future. I found Tony’s presentation to be a good, quick overview. Now I know what to expect.

Flash Lite hits US mobile phone market

It was announced today that Adobe has inked a deal with Verizon Wireless, the second largest wireless carrier in the US, to Flash playback capabilities into Verizon Wireless phones.

This marks the first commercial deployment of Flash Lite in the US market.

I’m sure this has already been thoroughly reported, but while browsing our online store I just noticed that Flash Lite 2 is posted for sale for US$10.

If you have a compatible phone you can now build mobile Flash content using, among other great features, ActionScript 2.0! Woo-hoo!

I can’t wait to see what the community creates with this.
