On the road - European press tour
I’m on the road in Europe for the next two weeks (with a much needed week of vacation to follow) on press tour. We’re spending the first week in the UK, currently at our shiny new offices in Bracknell, just outside of London. We’ll be talking with press and analysts, training the regional staff (sales and marketing) and meeting with some key customers as we ramp up for the big Studio release later this summer.
This is the best part of a Product Manager’s job. We get to travel all around the world showing key people the work that our teams have spent so much time working on. In this case, we’re on the “long-lead” tour which generally starts 3 - 6 months before a launch. It’s intended to give people enough lead time to prepare for full reviews of the products to be ready on the day of the announcement.
I’ll be posting on and off over the next two weeks. I may also share some photos from my trip using Flickr’s auto-blog-posting feature.
As a side note, I was hoping to meet up with Peter, Aral, and Guy, but they’re all in New York this week for FlashForward. Figures…
