Cannot seem to purchase from South Africa. No cards seem to go through without an error. Are there any other means to get it soon?

> Is this the same player that will be available in Series 60 phones?

Yes. As JD said, we're only selling this player through our online store so developers can get their hands on it now for testing and showing off their creations to others. We get thousands of requests for the player every day from Flash developers so we figured it would be smart to make it publicly available.

I believe the overwhelming majority of mobile players will come in the device at ship. Consumers *will* pay for their software, but at much lower (nearly invisible) unit costs, bundled with the device.

But bundling agreements take time to achieve. This Player offer via the store achieves two goals:
-- speeds delivery to developers who have a capable phone purchased before bundling agreement;
-- maintains viability of consumer-licensing business model.

(During WWW's high-growth days, it was the developers who ended up funding total development costs, via purchases of authoring tools. I firmly believe that it's stronger when costs are more directly allocated among the various parties who find advantage in the purchase. In this case this includes manufacturers, consumers, and often clients for ongoing services (video-streaming, eg).)

(btw, it's great to see someone from Nigeria working in this area... cheers, William! :)

Yeah, I believe charging will hurt it's adoption. For instance, payment is available for my region, Lagos, Nigeria. But I have built flashlite contents only tested (somewhat) on my pc!
