[Games] What is your favorite Flash-based game?

June 15th, 2004

I’m putting together a presentation and need to highlight four great examples of Flash used for online games. I have my own favorites but I’m sure there are a bunch that I haven’t discovered yet. Your help would be much appreciated. Please post your recommendations as comments.

[Flash] Taking museums online – while maintaining a high-quality experience

June 14th, 2004

One of the most interesting museums in Washington, D.C., the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is ehancing vistors’ experience by creating interactive kiosks that let visitors find detailed information about each exhibit as you tour the museum.

To extend their reach they’ve leveraged the same content, powered by Flash, on their web site.

Clarification on new documentation format

June 14th, 2004

Some of you may have noticed that we have implemented a new documentation format in the latest release of the Flash Remoting components. We are referring to this format as the “new ASDoc format”.

This is a new format similar to the format used in the documentation for Macromedia Flex, which was modeled after the JavaDoc format.

This should have very little, if any, effect on users. We just wanted to be clear that we are not releasing a new functionality or capability in the authoring tool. We are looking into further supporting this new documentation format in the authoring tool for future releases but we are planning nothing new in the short-term.

I have a new role at Macromedia

June 14th, 2004

I just wanted to formerly let everyone know that I moved into the role of Technical Product Manager for Flash a few weeks ago. You can always feel free to contact me at mdowney –at– macromedia.com with any ideas, questions, comments, concerns, etc.

My esteemed colleague, Mike Chambers has also assumed a new leadership role within the Flash world as the new head of developer relations for the Flash Platform (this includes Central).

Both of these roles are new and have been established to ensure that the Flash team stays closely in touch with requirements of the Flash user community.

Again, please feel free to contact me with any feedback.
