We have an opening for an ActionScript Developer/Writer. We need a talented and experienced person to work with our Instructional Media team.

Summary
The Macromedia Instructional Media team has an opening for a programmer/writer. The ideal candidate is skilled in developing ActionScript sample applications and is adept at describing and demonstrating to users how applications work and how to create them. This is currently a contract/temporary position.

The Macromedia Engineering team is a highly rewarding and fast-paced group. We’re looking for an experienced, imaginative candidate with a keen interest in Macromedia products. The candidate should be willing to grapple with technically demanding issues and convey the best approach to creating applications for an eager audience.

Responsibilities
Create sample applications.
Research, design, and write documentation for SDKs.
Advocate ease of use and clarity for the software development environment.
Deliver high-quality work on time.
Frequently interact and collaborate with members of other departments such as Engineering, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Technical Support to address the needs of customers.

Requirements
Knowledge of ActionScript.
Experience building sample files.
Minimum of three years’ experience as a programmer/writer, preferably in software documentation development for the developer market.
Demonstrated ability to address users of various levels of experience.
Excellent writing skills and demonstrated ability to write clear, concise prose on a deadline.
Ability to work with editors and style guides.
Excellent verbal communication and listening skills.

Ideal:
Four-year college degree.
Proficiency in FrameMaker 7.
Experience developing web-oriented and office-productivity applications.
