TED Conference - Monterey, CA
I’ll be at the TED conference in Monterey in two weeks (2/24 - 2/28). If you haven’t heard of TED you should check out the site that Macromedia produced for the conference.
http://www.ted.com
TED is a really cool conference (invitation only - I’m just there because Macromedia is a sponsor) that brings together innovative minds from Technology, Education, and Design. I bring this up because many of you reading this might fit into the “Design” category and should consider putting in as a speaker.
Last year I met one of my idols - Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons. I had no idea that he would be there. I ended up standing in line behind him at Starbucks and recognized him the minute he turned around. I shook hands and he asked me if I wanted a drawing. He then pulled out a completely blank business card and drew Homer and signed his name and the date next to it. Unreal…
I also saw people like Steve Case (AOL), Jeff Bezos (Amazon.com), Dean Kamen (Segway), Phil Schiller (Apple), Jane Goodall (the lady that lived with apes), etc.
Last year’s TED conference hosted the debut of the INTRO app - which has been revved for this years conference. Macromedia is also playing a bigger part this year trying to further the Rich Internet Applications story among the impressive attendee list.
I’ll post some details/pics from the show so you all can check it out.
